M-V-P M-V-P is something that should be chanted at Zack Greinke the next time he pitches the mound.

No seriously, he deserves that level of consideration after his latest 7 inning 1 run performance. Through 30 starts his RA9-WAR is 9.3. His RA9-WAR through 33 starts in his 2009 season? 9.5. Pretty okay in my opinion. Well, he led the Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over a potential playoff opponent in the Pirates.

Oh Zack also went 2-2 at the plate which meant all of the bat flips!

The offense got on base 13 times with Justin Ruggiano murdering lefties like he’s done ever since he put on a blue uniform, going 2-3.

222. That number is what Corey Seager‘s wRC+ is right now through his first 14 games. He hit a dinger (his first Dodger stadium home run) in the 4th inning, an absolute moonshot to make the score 4-1 at that point in the game.

They looked very good considering this is a playoff caliber opponent. Albeit without ROY contender Jung Ho Kang, but regardless they were swept the last time these two teams played, and the team definitely looked better, it looks more complete with a TON of options offensively and just doing very well whenever Zack Greinke or Clayton Kershaw pitches.

8’s the magic number, so clinching date is coming up pretty soon, maybe against San Francisco? That’d be sweet.
