Dodgers are sending Clayton Kershaw to the mound for tonight’s game and hoping to repeat what they did yesterday.

Can we just talk about Chase Utley? The guy was a machine yesterday as he blasted two home runs and the second one being a grand slam. In the words of Alex our other editor at the site, “pretty sure Citi Field has to build a Chase Utley statue now”. It was great to see the Dodgers just flat out dominate yesterday and the fact that all of their bats seem to be awake. They are hoping for the same today as they hand the ball to Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw is coming into tonight’s game with a record of 7-1 and an ERA of just 1.48. Kershaw has started in ten games so far this season and he already has three complete games. All last season Kershaw threw four complete games. My favorite stat is still hit strike out to walk ratio. In 79 innings of work, Kershaw has struck out 95 batters and walked just five. His WHIP is down to 0.658. There is no doubt about it, Kershaw is off to the best start he has ever had in his professional career. If he continues this way, the 28 year old will shatter countless records this season. The man does it all and it is great to see his work ethic and dedication show when he takes the mound. Kershaw pitched against the Mets and Colon on May 12 at Dodger Stadium where he threw nine innings and had a complete game shutout.

The Dodgers will be facing Bartolo Colon. The 43 year old is a Mets fan favorite and honestly it astonishes me that he is still this good at his age. Colon is entering tonight’s game with a record of 4-3 and an ERA of 3.44. In 55 innings of work, Colon has struck out 42 batters and walked 11. Colon pitched against the Dodgers on May 12 and the Dodgers won that game by a score of 5-0. In that game, Colon went five innings and gave up all five of the Dodgers runs. Today the boys in blue hope to do the same, get the W and capitalize off of Colon.

Next: In Support of Dodgers Yasiel Puig

To no surprise Chase Utley is leading off for the Dodgers. He pretty much owns the Mets at this point and I am just excited to see what he does tonight! There is a typo in the Dodgers lineup post. Yasiel Puig will be in right and Howie Kendrick is batting seventh and in left field. Trayce Thompson got hurt swinging his bat yesterday, but he said he is feeling much better and will be available off the bench.

Kershaw, Colon, series finale, Utley in the lineup and the game will be shown on ESPN so everyone can see it. It does not get much better than that. Once again it is another national broadcast, but on the bright side, that means Jessica Mendoza gets to share all her wisdom. She’s the best.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 PST so tune into ESPN and cheer on the boys in blue!
