Dodgers: Why Andrew Friedman is facing his biggest off-season yet
A roster shake-up is needed
At his end of the season presser, Andrew Friedman acknowledged that the “complexion” of the Dodgers’ roster may need to be changed. After going from two straight World Series appearances to one and done in the postseason, it couldn’t be more evident that changes are needed. Core players like Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger struggled mightily in the NLDS in addition to role players such as A.J. Pollock.
One rumor regarding Francisco Lindor has already surfaced and there will be many more coming as the hot stove begins to fire up. A trade for a star like Lindor could be the type of franchise-altering trade that the Dodgers need to get over their World Series hurdle. It is clear that the current roster needs more help and some prospects and core players may need to be dealt in order to get the help that is needed.
The last three World Series champions made franchise-changing acquisitions in Max Scherzer, Chris Sale, and Justin Verlander. The Dodgers need to make acquire a player of that caliber through trade or free agency to make it back to the World Series and win it.
