The Dodgers' 2023 Opening Day went almost perfectly. Though Julio Urías fell behind in the early innings and incited contract-year panic in the pressbox, ultimately he settled down and allowed the Dodgers' bats to come alive against Cy Young hopeful Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

All the right people got in on the action (except Max Muncy, who went a resounding 0-5 with five strikeouts). New center fielder James Outman went yard to remind all the skeptics that he was, in fact, an upgrade in the lineup rather than the last man on the roster. Phil Bickford and Shelby Miller, both given an Opening Day showcase in a semi-blowout, delivered perfect innings of relief, featuring a strikeout apiece.

It was a perfect night at the ballpark -- unless you ask the one man who snuck on the field for a proposal and ended up face down in the turf, crunched by a vicious police tackle.

Midway through the win, one Dodgers fan ran onto the field and knelt in the middle of the outfield grass, eyeing his girlfriend somewhere beyind the UCLA Health banner on the wall. While distracted by a pink-tinted Love Haze, he somehow missed a cop chugging in on his left side, ready to lead with the crown of his helmet.

Don't miss Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr., fresh from Toronto and not used to this kind of stuff in the AL East. For a split second, he was extremely excited to see a fan drop down to one knee -- love is love! -- before quickly realizing the man had been broken in half.

Diamondbacks OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has hilarious reaction to Dodgers proposal

You know, it's early. You can't expect everyone to be at full strength. That's why it was so shocking to see this cop in midseason form.

It's tough to tell what exactly the proposer was trying to accomplish here. People from the stands who sneak onto the field get flattened. Perhaps he thought there was some kind of corollary for people who can prove they're deeply in love. Alas, that doesn't exist anymore.

Ever since Rick Monday tackled the protestor trying to burn the flag, you always have to assume that someone sprinting out of the stands is trying to burn something. In this case, it was a hunka hunka burning love. And, in the end, this hunk got burnt.
