Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks prediction and odds for Thursday, April 6 (Value on total)
By Reed Wallach
The Dodgers and Diamondbacks meet for the second time in this young 2023 MLB season already.
Both Dodgers starter Dustin May and Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly faced the Thursday night foe already, so how will that factor into this matchup?
Let's take a look at the odds and make a bet on this one:

Dodgers and Diamondbacks prediction and pick
This exact matchup happened last week, a 2-1 win for the Diamondbacks.
I see a similar score line playing out, given May's strong start to the season and the workhorse mentality of Kelly to grind through innings. May pitched seven innings of three-hit ball without allowing a run. However, Kelly struggled to match the righty, with only 3.2 innings of work. He couldn't find the strike zone, walking four batters.
Kelly did limit the damage, not allowing a run as Arizona rallied to win on the road. His ability to generate soft contact has been key to his success for the better part of a season, and I believe that he can excel at home, as the Dodgers' offense has been hit-or-miss so far in 2023. The team is crushing home runs, nine through six games, but hitting just .258 as a group, 11th in the big leagues. Kelly allowed less than one home run per nine innings last season, one of the best marks in the National League.
I think this is setting up for another low-scoring matchup so I'll go with the under on Thursday night.
