Dodgers vs. Reds prediction and odds for Wednesday, June 7 (Bet OVER)

The Dodgers dropped a thriller to the Reds, 9-8, in Cincinnati in the series opener but will hope to get back on track Wednesday in what should be another high-scoring affair.

Noah Syndergaard's struggles have been ongoing in 2023, but the the offense has come to life for Los Angeles behind MVP contender Freddie Freeman. Can the Dodgers continue to rake in Cincinnati and even the series at a game apiece?

The Dodgers are scorching at the plate of late, hitting .276 as a team over the last 15 days and sitting second in the league in OPS, but don't count out the Reds, who are fourth in OPS in the same time period. Not only are the Reds playing good offensive baseball, the team just called up prized prospect Elly De La Cruz, who roped a double at 112 MPH in his big league debut against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Both offenses are going to be in favorable spots on Wednesday with the Reds set to start prospect Brandon Williamson. The top-10 prospect has made four starts for Cincinnati to middling results, but it could be worse before it gets better for him. Williamson has pitched to a 4.21 ERA thus far, but has an xERA of 6.30, meaning that he has gotten fairly lucky.

Against a Dodgers lineup that features the National League's best hitter at the moment, Freeman, who is tops in OPS, I expect LA to light up the scoreboard against the Reds.

However, I can't trust Syndergaard to limit Cincinnati. Once known as 'Thor' for his long blonde hair and force on the mound, Syndergaard is striking out only six batters per nine innings and is getting knocked around in a big way, allowing 11 hits per nine and posting a 6.54 ERA through 11 starts.

Tuesday's game went over and I expect more of the same on Wednesday.
