Dodgers 0 Diamondbacks 8: Try The Other Outcome, Maybe?

Maybe the Dodgers should try winning instead of losing maybe that would fix some things, huh? I mean at least until they clinch IF THEY EVEN DO SO *PRESSES PANIC BUTTON*

But yeah the Dodgers suffered an ugly loss to the Diamondbacks 8-0 off of Paul Goldschmidt‘s 30th dinger of the year and A.J. Pollock‘s 18th of the year. There was a lot more that happened, but those two players are absolute monsters, the Dodgers are lucky that the DBacks cannot pitch because a lineup build around Goldy and Pollock is particularly scary.

Alex Wood was excellent once again, tossing 6 1/3 IP, only allowing 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER with a 6-0 K/BB ratio with 79 pitches exhibiting solid command. He did give up that 1 home run to Pollock, but A.J. was the only one to drive in runs against him. At this point you’re probably looking at him as the 3rd starter in the playoffs considering Brett Anderson‘s 4.58 FIP since the all star break.

Of course if you do that, you have to find somebody to fill that 2nd lefty out of the pen, and at this point I suppose that’s Luis Avilan considering that Adam Liberatore imploded in his first major league appearance in months. Then again, Chris Hatcher was terrible, and Jim Johnson brought his earned runs given up above his innings pitched mark with 3 runs given up. Not great, guys!

I’m starting to get uneasy even though everybody including the Giants know that the division is wrapped up, but if the Dodgers could win another game… that’d be greaaattt.
