Some big news today regarding the Dodgers’ pitching staff, as the Milwaukee Brewers have officially made an offer to Randy Wolf, and it looks like we’ll find out sometime today whether or not Wolf will accept the deal or not.
Obviously, it’s looking very doubtful that Wolf will return to the Dodgers, so now it may just be a matter of time before he signs with another team. The Brewers are making him a pretty decent offer, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s bound for Milwaukee by the end of the day.
To me, this is not good news, and even though we pretty much expected it, the Dodgers haven’t seemed to be involved in trying to make any huge deals so far. Of course, that hasn’t been the Dodger way as of late, but I hope there is some type of movement on a pitcher in the coming days.
Wolf was one of the more consistent guys like season, so in my opinion, the pitching staff has officially gotten worse with the loss of him from the rotation.
UPDATE: And boom. Approximately two minutes after I posted this, Buster Olney just said that Wolf has officially agreed to the deal. Time for the Dodgers to start moving on this pitching problem.
