The Dodgers have lost the chance to resign a member of their bullpen from last season. Former Dodger and free agent George Sherrill signed with the Atlanta Braves. It is a one year deal worth 1.2 million dollars.
Sherrill posted a 0.65 ERA with the Dodgers in 2009 while pitching in 30 games. 2010 was a different story however because Sherrill wasn’t nearly as dominant. He posted a 6.69 ERA and right handed batters batted .427.
I think that this year in 2010 was just an off season for George Sherrill. Look for the lefty to post respectable numbers for the Braves. My prediction is as follows: 3-2 with a 2.79 ERA. The Dodgers may regret not signing the lefty back. Despite his horrible 2010, this leaves a new need for a lefty reliever on the staff.
