The Los Angeles Dodgers have always been about pitching. Names like Koufax, Drysdale, Newcombe, Sutton, Valenzuela, Hershiser, and Gagne immediately come to mind when discussing Dodger history. This is a franchise that truly believes pitching wins championships and has the rings to prove it.
So how does this year’s edition of Dodger hurlers stack up? The rotation was a bit thin last year and was a weakness from day one. You could see this from Opening Day when Joe Torre started Vincente Padilla. It comes as no surprise that GM Ned Colletti targeted the rotation for a much needed up-grade when the season came to an end.
