The greatest Dodger of all time, Vin Scully will receive a Bobblehead, being honored on August 30 as one of ten Bobbleheads being given away during the Dodger Stadium Greats bobblehead series. The greatest series are ten games where some of the greatest Dodger moments of all time are honored with a Bobblehead. The Dodgers released the final three of the ten on Monday.
The final three were announced to be Hall of Fame Legend, and greatest Broadcaster in sports history Vin Scully, World Series hero and former MVP Kirk Gibson, and First Baseman Eric Karros.
Also getting Bobbleheads during the series will be Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Tommy Lasorda, Walter Alston, Maury Wills, Mike Scioscia, Orel Hershiser, the record setting infield of Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Bill Russell, and Davey Lopes, and Fernando Valenzuela will be getting his fourth Bobblehead, which is the most by any other Dodger.
Vin Scully, and Sandy Koufax will be receiving their first Bobbleheads. The first Bobblehead giveaway is on April 28, which is a bobble twin of Wills and Drysdale for their amazing 1962 seasons. Wills stole 104 bases that season winning the MVP, and the Big D won 25 games en route to the Cy Young during the Dodgers first season at Dodger Stadium. This is part of a season long celebration commemorating Dodger Stadium’s 50th anniversary.
