Season-Long Celebration and FanFest Set for Dodger Stadium’s 50th Anniversary

Many blue-filled events are slated for the upcoming season to commemorate Dodger Stadium’s 50th Anniversary.

The Dodgers website includes information about the 50th Anniversary as well as the incorporation of contrasting photos of Dodger Stadium in 1962 and present-day Chavez Ravine.

In March, fans will begin to be able to vote for their all-time favorite moments in Dodger Stadium history. You can vote at the newly revamped 50th Anniversary website, and the winning moments will begin to be revealed starting in June. The top moment will be announced on October 3rd. Do you think Kirk Gibson’s homerun will be number 1?

The 50th Anniversary FanFest sponsored by State Farm will be held on Saturday, May 19th. The event will go from noon to 6 pm with the regularly scheduled 7:10 pm game to follow against the World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals. There will be giveaways, autograph sessions with former and current players, and lots of family fun and activities. When you buy your regular game ticket, FanFest entry is included.

Throughout the season there will be special collectible 50th Anniversary items available for purchase. There’s a 50th Anniversary logo t-shirt and patch. All 2012 merchandise has been reduced 20-50% in price from last season.

Commemorative tickets will be issued all season-long as well along with a special Opening Day ticket designed to look like the Opening Day tickets of April 10, 1962.

The Dodger Stadium Greats Bobblehead Series is sure to be popular, and will commence on April 28th with the Don Drysdale and Maury Wills bobblehead. You can see the entire promotional schedule including the Dodger Stadium Greats Bobblehead Series list here.

We will be bringing you a special look at Opening Day, so if you aren’t able to make it to the Ravine on April 10th then be sure to check out Lasorda’s Lair for our Opening Day coverage!
