Sharon Robinson To Serve on Dodger’s Board Of Directors

According to Bill Shakin of the L.A. Times, Sharon Robinson, daughter of legendary hall of fame Baseball, Civil rights, and Dodger hero Jackie Robinson will serve on the Dodger’s board of directors next season. The Dodgers have agreed to give Sharon Robinson a seat, and in return the Robinson family has agreed to let the Dodgers pick someone to hold a seat on the board of the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Sharon Robinson said she will represent her family, the Dodgers, and the Jackie Robinson Foundation on the Dodger’s board of directors. Sharon said she was excited, and looking forward to celebrating Jackie Robinson day next April 15th at Dodger Stadium. Sharon appeared at Yankee Stadium last April 15th on Jackie Robinson day.

Sharon is also looking for funding to help the Jackie Robinson Foundation secure more college scholarships. The Robinsons are also looking to build a Jackie Robinson museum in New York. Sharon called the museum more of a civil rights museum, then a sports museum. This season was not only the 50th anniversary season of Jackie Robinson’s induction into the hall of fame, it was also the 65th anniversary of his breaking of the Baseball color barrier.

No official announcement has been made by the Dodgers yet, but one should be made as soon as the details are finalized.
