Dodgers Announce Minor League Coaching Staff for 2013

Today the Dodgers announced their minor league coaching staff for next season, and the lineup includes some familiar names along with some new faces. Two minor league coaches from 2012 have been promoted to the Major League level for next season. John Valentin was the AAA-Albuquerque hitting coach last season, and he will be the new Dodger Assistant Hitting Coach and will work with Mark McGuire in 2013. Chuck Crim, who was the AA-Chattanooga pitching coach last season, now will take the position of Bullpen Coach for the Dodgers in 2013.
Pat Listach will join the Dodgers as their new Infield Coordinator. He previously was with the Chicago Cubs where he was their third base coach last season and their bench coach in 2011. Listach played in the Majors for six seasons with the Brewers and Astros from 1992-1997 as a shortstop.
Todd Takayoshi comes over from the Angels where he spent the last 11 years and the last 6 as their Roving Hitting Coordinator. He will be the Dodgers’ new Assistant Hitting Coordinator.
Rick Knapp will assume the role of Assistant Pitching Coordinator. Knapp is a former big league pitcher from 1983-1987 with the San Diego Padres and the Texas Rangers. Last season he was the Kansas City Royals’ minor league pitching coordinator, and previous to that was the pitching coach for the Detroit Tigers.
Lorenzo Bundy will return for his third season as the manager of the Isotopes. He won the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year honor last season after leading his team to a franchise-tying record 80 wins.
Jody Reed will take over the helm for the AA-Chattanooga Lookouts. Last season he was the Infield Coordinator. He previously led the Rookie-level Arizona Dodgers to a championship in 2011 and the Gulf Coast League Yankees to a championship berth in 2007 as manager.
Razor Shines will be the manager for the Single-A Great Lakes Loons for 2013. He was the hitting coach last season for the team. He previously managed in the Reds, White Sox, and Phillies farm systems.
Damon Berryhill will return for his fifth season as manager of the Rookie-Advanced Ogden Raptors.
Another new face for the Dodgers is P.J. Forbes who will be managing the Rookie-level Arizona League Dodgers. He previously managed for nine seasons in the Phillies and Pittsburgh organizations.
Pedro Mega will be returning for his seventh season as the manager for the Dominican Summer League Dodgers. His 2012 staff will be returning as well.
