Dodgers Spring Training Television Schedule a Big Disappointment

Dodger fans will be disappointed to find out that only three Spring Training games from Arizona will be televised. No games will be aired on Prime Ticket, which is likely due to the fact that this season will be the last one under contract with FOX Sports before the Dodgers launch their network deal with Time Warner for 2014 and beyond.

The following games will be televised on KCAL from Camelback Ranch:

  • Sunday, March 15th vs. Milwaukee at 1:05 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 23rd vs. Chicago White Sox at 7:05 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 26th vs. Colorado at 7:05 p.m.

That’s right, we will not be able to watch our Boys in Blue on TV until mid-March. One of the Freeway games on Thursday, March 28th versus the Angels in Anaheim will be televised on Prime Ticket, and the Friday, March 29th games versus the Angels from Dodger Stadium will be televised on KCAL.

Last season 15 Spring Training games from Arizona were televised.

16 Spring games including the three games of the Freeway Series will be broadcast on the radio KLAC 570 AM , and 7 games will be broadcast in Spanish language on KTNQ Univision América 1020 AM. It is not known yet when we will be graced by the beautiful voice of Vin Scully for the first time in 2013. Usually the Hall of Fame broadcaster likes to announce a few Spring Training games to “warm up” before Opening Day.

We will bring you continuing coverage throughout Spring Training. While there will be limited Spring Training games televised, be sure to stay tuned for our detailed game recaps.

While there may be a blizzard and cold weather hitting the east coast, Arizona is heating up in anticipation of pitchers and catchers reporting on Tuesday!
