Additional Spring Training Games Will Be Televised and Vin Scully Will Call Six

Monday, February 25th will be the first time we will be graced with Vin Scully’s iconic voice in 2013. I was highly disappointed to find out that only three Dodger Spring Training games were originally to be televised from Arizona, but Friday it was announced that Prime Ticket will now broadcast four Cactus League games.

Vin Scully will announce six games-all four on Prime Ticket and two on KCAL. Last season, Scully only announced two Spring Training games.

Here is an updated list of the Dodger Spring Training television schedule including the Vinny games:

v  Monday, February 25 vs. Chicago Cubs 12:05 p.m. (Prime Ticket) Vin Scully

v  Thursday, February 28 vs. Angels 12:05 p.m. (Prime Ticket) Vin Scully

v  Friday, March 1 vs. Angels 12:05 p.m. (FOX Sports West) Angels broadcast

v  Tuesday, March 5 vs. Padres 12:05 p.m. (FOX Sports San Diego) Padres broadcast

v  Thursday, March 7 vs. Texas 12:05 p.m. (Prime Ticket) Vin Scully

v  Sunday, March 17 vs. Milwaukee 1:05 p.m. (KCAL) Vin Scully

v  Monday, March 18 vs. Arizona 1:05 p.m. (Prime Ticket) Vin Scully

v  Saturday, March 23 vs. Chicago White Sox 7:05 p.m. (KCAL)

v  Tuesday, March 26 vs. Colorado 7:05 p.m. (KCAL) Vin Scully

Like last year, Vin Scully will announce the St. Patrick’s Day game versus the Brewers. St. Patty’s Day was always a big celebration for the O’Malleys back in Dodgertown days. The parties were legendary.

While the additional television broadcasts are great, it came to my attention that the Angels have a 23-game Spring Training game broadcast schedule this year by FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket.

Nonetheless we only have a few more days before we hear those magical words from Vinny….”It’s time for Dodger baseball!”
