Feel this moment Dodger fans. I just want to climb to the top of the mountains and scream to the heavens! The Dodgers are in first place and it’s like Christmas in July. You couldn’t script this stuff even if you tried. Last night the Dodgers rallied from one run down to score a run in the ninth, and five in the top of the tenth to win their sixth in a row and 23 out of their last 28 games.
Colby Rasmus’s costly blunder on Andre Ethier’s single to center allowed Puig to score the tying run, and opened the floodgates. The thing is you can’t make mistakes and give this Dodger team an inch because they’ll make you pay. The Dodgers did just that, winning their tenth consecutive road game for the first time since 1955.
The Dodgers are setting the Baseball world on its ear and making history along the way. The Dodgers have never won ten straight road games since moving to Los Angeles. They’ll go for the record of 12 in another week. And according to Eric Stephen, this is the first time since September of 1985 that the club has scored eight runs or more in four consecutive games. This is also just the fourth time the Dodgers have swept an interleague series on the road, and first since 2003.
Would you like to hear what the gravy on the turkey dinner is? Last night before bedtime the Dbacks lost to the Cubs in 12 innings. That means the Dodgers (53-47) are now 1.5 games ahead of the Snakes in first place in the NL West. The Dodgers are actually two games up since their two ahead in the loss column.
Tonight the Dodgers return home on top of the world to kick off a six game home stand and four game series against the Reds on Vin Scully Bobble head night. This is the second Vin bobble head night, and what a great way to pay tribute to the greatest broadcaster ever. The Dodgers are sure making Vin proud with the way they are playing, and that’s really the best way to honor Vin Scully. Let us not forget that this night really belongs to Vin.

This series won’t be easy as the Reds are also coming in a hot streak. They’ve won seven out of their last ten, and have a firm grasp on the second wild card spot. The Reds are 58-44 and sit in third place in the NL Central five games behind the Cardinals. The Reds have their own injury problems to deal with. Zachary Cozart their shortstop has a stiff hip, and catcher Ryan Hanigan is on the DL with a sprained left wrist. Johnny Cueto is still hurt, and even former Dodger heartbreaker Jonathan Broxton is on the DL with a sore elbow. Yet the Reds are still contention. They have a pretty solid team, so this won’t be easy for our Boys in Blue.
Speaking of injuries, Since Matt Kemp was placed on the DL yesterday with his ankle sprain, the Dodgers are considering calling up someone from the minors. Since Scott Van Slyke was just sent down, and the Dodgers used Kemp’s spot to activate old man Ted Lilly, Van Slyke has to wait seven more days to be recalled, unless he was replacing someone else who was injured. The Dodgers are considering Alex Castellanos as a candidate. However if Castellanos is called up, someone would have to be bumped to make room. The likely candidate would be Chris Withrow who has options. I wouldn’t like that because I like Withrow. He’s a solid late inning pitcher, and that could weaken the bullpen. It should really be roster spot waster Carlos Marmol who gets the can. Since he couldn’t hit the strike zone if it was the broad side of a barn. Ah well, the team is winning right now, so I won’t complain if it happens. We’ll see if the club announces a move.
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mat Latos in the first inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.-Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
Mat Latos will take the hill for the Reds. The 25 year old right hander is looking to win his tenth. Latos is 2-6 versus the Dodgers, and has a 2.48 ERA against them, and the last time the team faced him last September 22 he shut them out for eight innings. Latos is 9-3 with a 3.53 ERA and 132 whiffs. Latos is tough. He doesn’t walk many (40 walks), and the Dodgers are hitting just .228 against him.

The Dodgers will counter with Zack Greinke. The right hander is looking for his 100 career win. He has been on quite a roll too. Birdman is 5-0 with a 2.36 ERA in his last six starts. Greinke is 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA in six starts against the Reds. He’s whiffed 52 and walked just nine in those starts. On the season Greinke is 8-2 with a 3.36 ERA and 71 whiffs. He’s held the Reds to a .197 average, but watch out for Joey Votto. He’s taken Greinke deep three times.

Check this out. Last night the Dodgers were having some fun. Hyun-jin Ryu was on the receiving end of some good natured fun from Yasiel Puig. Noogie time!
The Baseball gods have been kind to us. Dodger fans are like the chosen ones and we should be grateful. Everything is turning up roses for us. Those punks in San Diego have dropped into the cellar. The Giants suck. Jeff Fancoeur is a Giant! Arizona lost to the Cubs and can’t keep up. Remember if you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it.
Tonight’s game is a 7:10 PM start time and televised on Prime Ticket. The match is completely sold out. So if you are trying to get tickets, sorry. I’ll have the recap after the game so make sure you hop on over here.
I want all Dodger fans to feel this moment. Feel it. Taste it. Smell it. Breathe it. Live it. Love it. The Dodgers are on fire. I don’t ever want this to stop. I want to feel this moment forever. Go Blue!
