As we begin a New Year with Spring Training and Opening Day right around the corner, we want to wish you and your family a safe and happy New Year from Lasorda’s Lair!
A brand New Year brings hope that a World Series championship will be brought back to Los Angeles. We have a lot to look forward to.
This year will be the year
Hanley will continue to make his mark in Los Angeles and show why he is one of the most gifted hitters in the league.
Andre Ethier will try to prove the naysayers wrong and perhaps start another 30-game hitting streak. Carl Crawford will add some speed and punch to the lineup, while Yasiel Puig will mature as a player and as a person in 2014.
Youth will hopefully get the chance to shine, and I’m looking forward to the Major League debuts of some of the farm’s best including the possibility of Zach Lee, Joc Pederson, and Ross Stripling wearing Blue before the season’s over.
Fourth year manager Don Mattingly will look to improve on his first three seasons in hopes of finally inking that long-term contract he wants. Mattingly knocked on the door of the World Series in 2013, but if all goes right he’ll be making double switches during the Fall Classic this time.
We all have the same goal in mind. To score runs. To win games. To play in October.
Go Blue in 2014!
