The Song Of The Tanaka Saga (Baseball Goes On)

facebooktwitterreddit

I am sure there are many Dodger fans who are livid over the fact that the Dodgers did not sign Masahiro Tanaka, the Japanese superstar pitcher to a mega-multi-million dollar contract. The Yankees are the ones who won this prize, reportedly signing him to a ridiculous seven-year 155 million dollar deal. But fret not Dodger fans, the boys in blue still have a very talented roster, and stand at the ready as the heavy favorites to not only win the NL West, but also win the National League Pennant, and the World Series.

But if this Tanaka saga, (which dragged on for months) was an actual song? What would it sound like?

Well, you’re all in luck, because I have the song right here! Some group called the beatles originally wrote the song, I’m sure you’ve heard of these guys right? Paul McSomebody, and some guy named Ringo, and then there was this other guy named after a communist ruler. But I made it better. The song is now improved because it has Dodgers in it. Anyways, this is the song of the Tanaka ordeal. Enjoy!

Life goes on, it really does

Dodgers have a foothold in the market place, signing all the players just for you,

Hello Clayton Kershaw here’s 215 mil, But Tanaka will not be wearing Dodger Blue,

Ob-la di, ob-la Da The games go on, oh, woaaaaa Baseball goes on!

Colletti makes an offer to Tanaka’s peeps, Yankees and the Snakes do it too,

20 million dollars in posting fees, Makes sure the Golden Eagles won’t be feeling Blue,

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, The Games go on, oh! Ohhhhhh baseball goes on.

(Musical interlude)

In a couple of years they may have won it all….

And Remember that Brendan Ryan can’t hit the ball at all…..(Ha Ha Ha)

I hate the Yankees and so do you, I hope all their players decline,

Derek Jeter is about a hundred years old, I hope the Yankees fail, Go Dodger Blue!

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, The Games go On Ohhhhh! Woaaaaa Baseball goes on!

Happy ever after in Dodger land, Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu pass the flag,

Kenley closes games, Hanley, Puig, Gonzo, hit them out,

The Dodgers got the World Series in the bag.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, The games go on, Oh! Woooaaaaa Baseball goes on!

Dodger fans take solace in knowing that we have a very strong roster of players, and will be a heavy favorite to win it all in 2014. We may not have Tanaka, but we have a lot that most clubs don’t have. Let’s be thankful for what we have instead of complaining about what we don’t have. The Dodgers can’t sign them all.

Cheers Dodger fans!
