Tim Wallach To Be Inducted Into Canadian Baseball Hall Of Fame

On June 21st, at St. Mary’s in Ontario Dodger bench coach and former MLB all-star third baseman Tim Wallach will be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Wallach could be considered one of the greatest players in Expo’s history.

Wallach played most of his 17 year MLB career with the Montreal Expos. Wallach was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the tenth round of the 1979 amateur draft. After switching to third base from the outfield, Wallach went on to become the franchise leader in several statistical categories in his 13 years with the Expos from 1980-1992. Those categories include most games played (1,767), hits (1,694), doubles (360), RBI (905), and total bases (2,728). Wallach ranked third on the Expo’s all time runs scored list with 737, and ranked fourth in home runs with 204.

Wallach played his last few seasons with the Dodgers from 1993-1995, and 1996. Wallach finished with a career .257 batting average, a .316 OBP, 260 home runs, and 2,085 hits. Wallach was a five time all-star, and three-time gold glove winner.

He also won two silver slugger awards, and played in 2,212 career MLB games. Wallach has already been inducted into the Cal State Fullerton hall of fame, the Titan Athletics hall of fame, and College Baseball hall of fame. The induction ceremonies will include a celebrity slo-pitch softball game, a home run derby, and a celebrity golf tournament.
