Super Prospect Zach Lee Makes Spring Dodger Debut

The Dodgers play the Texas Rangers this afternoon at Camelback Ranch in a somewhat somber mood after hearing the news of the passing of legendary Doctor, and former team physician Dr. Frank Jobe. I’m sure the flags will be flying at half mass today, and Our condolences go out to his family and friends. Jobe invented and preformed the very first Tommy John surgery, and was 88 years old.

Some Dodger Baseball should cheer us all up (for those who can watch it), and today should be a good game. This afternoon’s game will feature the spring debut of top prospect Zach Lee. He’ll be dueling Texas youngster Martin Perez in what looks like to be a good match-up. We haven’t seen much of Lee this spring, so it should be interesting to take a look at what the Dodger’s minor league pitcher of the year can bring to the table this year.

On the injury front, Yasiel Puig is still receiving treatment for a sore back. Puig showed up to camp 20 pounds overweight and I wonder how much that has to do with his aches and pains this spring. Hanley Ramirez is in the lineup today. He was sore from yesterday’s tilt after getting hit in the arm in the sixth inning. Fear not guys, Hanley is fine.

Zack Greinke is getting closer and closer to returning from his calf strain. The birdman threw a pain free session the other day, and I think he should be ready to return to action pretty soon. Go Blue!
