Dodgers Activate Wilson, Option Paco To Triple-A
By Scott Andes

The Dodgers have announced that reliever Brian Wilson has been reinstated from the 15-day DL, and in order to clear room, left hander Paco Rodriguez has been optioned to triple-A Albuquerque. Yet the king bum Brandon League remains on the roster. This is the world we live in, where young talented players like Paco are sent packing in order to hold onto inferior pitchers like League.
The #Dodgers today reinstated Brian Wilson from the 15-day DL and optioned Paco Rodriguez to @AbqTopes.

Poor Paco, who knows when we’ll see him again. This also leaves just J.P. Howell as the lone left hander in the pen. Remember Paul Maholm is in the rotation right now. Paco had appeared in eight games for the Dodgers this year, posting a 3.18 ERA. He’s allowed two earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched, and whiffed five.
As for Wilson, he’s recovering from nerve irritation in his elbow, and made two relief rehab appearances for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
Obviously it’s extremely infuriating to see Paco being wasted in the minors so the Dodgers can hang on to another pitcher who is clearly atrocious. But what can you do? This is reality. Actually it could have easily been Chris Withrow getting optioned instead of Paco. Because only Paco and Withrow had options, and we know they’ll never get rid of League. So you knew one of those two were going to be sent down.
I would have been furious if Withrow had been optioned, at least with this outcome I’m only slightly infuriated instead of enraged. That’s the way I see it. I guess you have to look for the goods in everything.
