Rookie Hazing: Joc Pederson as Captain America

After a disastrous day in Denver, the Dodgers parlayed in a little rookie hazing. At the end of the season, the Dodgers usually torment their rookies by forcing them to wear hilarious costumes. It isn’t quite Halloween yet, but I would definitely give any of these Dodger rookies a king size candy bar if they knocked on my door.
Joc Pederson was adorned in a very patriotic Captain America costume Wednesday evening. Joc’s costume didn’t seem too embarrassing to me, and I tend to remember a certain Dodger closer who had to wear a much more leggy costume in his rookie season. Last season Yasiel Puig was Gumby and Hyun-jin Ryu was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (possibly best rookie hazing costume EVER). We can’t forget Scott Van Slyke’s sexy nurse outfit either. This year seems a bit tame, doesn’t it?
Pederson, the highly touted prospect, is hitting .167 with 3 hits in 18 at-bats over 11 games.
Poor Carlos Frias had to wear a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume after his eight-run first inning debacle earlier in the day. Welcome to the Majors, Carlos! Or should I say La Tortuga!
Frias is 0-1 with a 6.58 ERA in 12 games (2 starts).
According to Alanna Rizzo, veteran Jamey Wright supplied the costumes.
