Brandon League is Headed To The Disabled List

Another Dodger hurler is going to be starting the season on the disabled list. Brandon League is heading there after his right shoulder discomfort failed to improve. League will have a contrast MRI on his ailing right shoulder, but stated that he was not in any pain. He still won’t be ready for the beginning of the regular season.

  • League had a cortisone injection into the shoulder last week, but reported feeling fine during Sunday’s bullpen session. However the discomfort returned on Tuesday when he attempted to play catch. When asked about League’s chances of being ready by opening day, manager Don Mattingly simply stated “He hasn’t pitched in a while, you do the math”.

If you must do the math, then you can see that League is going to be out for a while. The right hander has pitched in just 1 1/3 innings this spring, and hasn’t pitched in a game since March 9.
