Dodgers Outright Ryan Webb To Oklahoma City, Then Release Him
By Scott Andes

Apparently The Ryan Webb trade was all about the draft pick, or mostly about the draft pick. The Dodgers announced today that they have outrighted newly acquired reliever Ryan Webb to triple-A Oklahoma City. (Update, the Dodgers have released Webb)

The Dodgers acquired the right hander from the Orioles along with minor league catcher Brian Ward, and a competitive balance draft pick in exchange for catcher Chris O’Brien, and sidearm hurler Ben Rowen. I speculated that it was possible that the Dodgers would add Webb during their series at Arizona in order to improve the bullpen. Webb has posted solid numbers since his MLB debut in 2009.

Webb pitched in 51 games for Baltimore in 2014. He posted a 3.83 ERA/2.95 FIP with a 6.8 strikeout per nine rate in 49.1 innings pitched. Webb has a career 16-18 record, and a 3.38 ERA in 317 MLB games in six Major League seasons. Webb has played with three MLB teams, the Dodgers would be his fourth organization.
