Dodgers Look For Sweep of Snakes, as The Andersons Battle Again For The Second Time
By Scott Andes

The last time a game ended with a base runner being hit with a batted ball was June 27, 2010. That game saw the Oakland A’s defeating the Pirates. Saturday night’s Dodgers/Dbacks game ended with a base runner being hit by a batted ball. It also happened in Anaheim as the Giants were beating the Angles on Saturday night too. It doesn’t happen for five years, and then it happens in two games on the same night. Very weird.

The Dodgers will go for the series sweep over the Snakes on Sunday afternoon, as their home dominance this season continues. The club is now 12-2 at home, and have won every series at Dodger Stadium.
Today’s game will see the return of the battle of the Andersons, and the return of Juan Uribe to the Dodger lineup. The portly third baseman has an 11-game hitting streak on the line.

During the first week of the season these two Andersons’ dueled at Chase Field. It was the Arizona’s Anderson (Chase) that ended up besting the Dodger’s Brett. Young Chase allowed three runs across five frames in the Snake’s 4-3 win.

The 27-year old right hander is 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA in four starts with the Dbacks this year. Chase has allowed three or fewer runs in three of his first four starts in 2015. He is looking for his first road win since June of 2014.
Chase is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA in four starts against the Dodgers. At Dodger Stadium he is 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA in two starts.

The Dodgers will counter with left hander Brett Anderson. The Midland Texas native may be great on twitter, but he has been horrendous on the mound for the Dodgers. He is 1-1 with a 5.49 ERA in his four starts. He’s allowed 26 hits in 19.2 innings pitched, and failed to make it past the fifth inning in three of his four starts. Brett is 0-1 against Arizona, with a 4.50 ERA in two starts.

Paul Goldschmidt is 3 for 6 against Brett, including a home run hit earlier this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if Goldschmidt goes yard at least once today.
Stat of the day– Juan Uribe has hit 17 home runs in his career against Arizona, and has 100 hits versus the Snakes.
