The lineup wasn’t looking to appealing anyways so maybe it was a good thing the game was cancelled. What with Chris Heisey batting lead-off, and Adrian Gonzalez not in the lineup. Somebody should send Don Mattingly a memo that not playing the best hitter on your club every time a left hander is on the mound is quite foolish. You know he is only hitting .373 this year.
Check out the Dodger’s lineup they sent out this afternoon
Heisey CF
Rollins SS
Kendrick 2B
Turner 1B
Guerrero 3B
Van Slyke LF
Hernandez RF
Ellis C
Kershaw P
Oh and yes Gonzo has a career .273 average with 62 home runs against left handed pitching. He also hits .290 against left handed starters. Just an FYI for Donnie. I don’t like sitting the red-hot Yasmani Grandal either. The guy has only driven in ten runs in the last five games or something. Maybe that was just a phony lineup to fool Colorado? Maybe the Dodgers were trying to steal a win by using the rope-a-dope approach? Kind of like a cool ocean’s eleven thing?
At any rate, the game was cancelled due to heavy rain. No makeup date was announced, and the Dodgers do not go back to Colorado until early June. They may have to play a double-header at some point.
The club announced they’ll push the starters back a day. Kershaw would start on Sunday, and Zack Greinke on Monday at Dodger Stadium versus the Marlins. Unless that game gets cancelled as well, it very well could since the Denver forecast calls for heavy rain, and snow on Sunday.
Anyways, enjoy your Saturday night everyone!
