Dodgers/Rockies Set To Play Snow Ball on Mother’s Day

So Apparently the Dodgers and Rockies are going to try and play this afternoon. They’ve busted out the bulldozers and shovels, and are removing all of the snow. It looks like a winter wonderland in Denver right now. Check out the photos that Alanna Rizzo posted on her twitter account.

It seems a bit risky to try and play in this weather. The forecast calls for rain and snow, and it’s going to be very cold, and wet. It would probably be best for both clubs if they called this game, and rescheduled for next month or whenever. But you know how MLB is, neither sleet nor snow, or something like that. Like the postman’s theme.

I guess MLB doesn’t care, so they are going to play. Today is Mother’s Day, so the bases will be pink, and some of the players will be wearing the pink breast cancer awareness ribbons. So hug your Mom today and tell her you love her before the game starts.

  • The match-up is the same from the night before. It will be Clayton Kershaw against Jorge De La Rosa. Stacie provided a look at the match-ups yesterday, and you can check that out here. Kershaw will once again be going for his 100 win.

As for the lineup, it looks like Don Mattingly thankfully has come to his senses. Chris Heisey is in the lineup, but not batting lead-off, and Adrian Gonzalez is in there as well. Although it would be nice if the red hot Yasmani Grandal was playing, but I won’t complain. Heisey not batting lead-off and Gonzo is playing, so I am good.

Should anyone be playing in these conditions?

If the game is played, then Jason will have the call later on. If not than go spend some quality time with Mom, and we’ll see you guys on Monday.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I love you Mom!

    Go Blue!
