Well that game was kinda good then it wasn’t then it was then is wasn’t and then you realized that the Dodgers might clinch in San Francisco and then you realize that everything is going to be okay and then you realize that the Dodgers will face the Mets really regardless of what happens and then yeah.
So the game itself was kinda bad Carlos Gonzalez hit a 2 run walk off homer off of Yimi Garcia to ensure that the Dodgers won’t clinch until another day. That was a sad thing because Yimi is one of the relievers where it’s cool when he does well because he is certainly a reliever that will pitch high leverage innings in the playoffs
But the top half of the lineup provided most of the offense, with Andre Ethier hitting a 2 run dinger along with the game tying double, Justin Turner hit a double and a single, Chase Utley had an RBI and Corey Seager hit a triple to net the team 6 runs, which is a pretty good outcome and one that will get Brett Anderson a win anywhere outside of Coors Field. Brett sadly also gave up 6 runs, so yikes.
He has really struggled since the all star break so Alex Wood (with a good start tomorrow) might be a prime candidate to seize the 3rd starter role and I can’t say i’d complain about that.
So it wasn’t a great game and the Giants won to delay the clinching by another day, but at least if the Giants win tomorrow the Dodgers get 4 chances to ensure celebration at AT&T stadium and I cannot say that would be a bad thing (as long as the magic number is 1) ultimately you shrug, you’re happy that Corey Seager didn’t get horrifically hurt in Coors and you say “I hope they clinch in San Fran or tomorrow via winning.” The end. Good night.
