Dodgers Place Two in Top Ten in Latest Jersey Sales
The Dodgers are one of the biggest franchises in baseball and the newest top-20 jersey sales list helps prove it.
The Dodgers‘ two best players are undoubtedly Clayton Kershaw and Corey Seager. Only fitting that their jerseys would be the two highest selling ones on the team. Since the conclusion of the 2016 World Series, both of their jerseys are in the top-7 of total jersey sales.
Corey Seager checks in at seventh overall, while Kershaw has the third most popular jersey and is the only non-Cub in the top-5. The only players ahead of Kershaw are Kris Bryant (1) and Anthony Rizzo (2), meaning he is the top-ranked pitcher. Dodger fans will be happy to hear that LA’s star duo was ranked ahead of San Francisco’s duo of Buster Posey (8) and Madison Bumgarner (12), along with the Angels’ Mike Trout (10).
Kershaw’s reputation and popularity has increased over the years due to him being widely regarded as the best pitcher in the league for a while now. This has helped cement himself as a legit superstar. He’s also proven to be very marketable because he seems to genuinely be a nice humble guy that’s hard to dislike. This has helped him become one of the faces of Major League Baseball, next to guys such as Mike Trout and Kris Bryant.

Corey Seager, on the other hand, is just getting his career started, and seems to be a future face of the the MLB. He had a lot of hype as one of the top prospects in baseball, but he exceeded all expectations during his 2016 rookie season, which helped put him on the nation’s radar and become arguably the best shortstop in the league.
Combine the fact that both studs play for a winning franchise in Los Angeles, the country’s second largest media market, and it’s no surprise that they’ve been so popular.
Seager is also part of the MLB’s new trend of “young” stars. The average age of players on the top-20 list is 26.5 years of age. The MLB is gravitating towards a new generation of younger players and seems to be getting younger every year. It makes sense because the league is trying to appeal to younger generations and one of the ways to do that is to have younger players that they can relate to.
This will only help the Dodgers in the future because they have a lot of potential stars, on the cusp of the majors, in their farm system.

The Cubs showed that your reputation can explode if you win a World Series, and if the Dodgers can win it all this season, they can supplant the Cubs as the face of the MLB.
