Dodgers Who Were Snubbed in the First All-Star Update
The first update of the MLB All-Star game starters was released Tuesday afternoon. Perhaps to the surprise of many, the Dodgers only had one representative that made the National League starters.
Despite having the National Leagues’ best record (33-20) and being ranked in the top five in runs scored, RBI, on-base percentage, and doubles; Corey Seager is the lone Dodger starter that is currently in the lead at his position to start for the NL.
The National League is headlined by Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy from the Washington Nationals, who received the most votes in the NL. The Cubs again are well represented with three starters in the lead, leaving only three spots for the NL West (Buster Posey, Charlie Blackmon, and Corey Seager).
The Dodgers were not by any means stiffed in the voting results. They just don’t have quite as much support from the NL fan bases. The Dodgers have three players in the top five of their position and one in the top 15 in the outfield.
The next voting update is scheduled to be released on June 5th, but I thought it would be a good time to speak out on a few Dodgers who are deserving of your All-Star vote.
