Justin Turner, Third base

Although Turner is currently on the Disabled List and plays perhaps the most stacked position in the entire NL, J.T. is definitely deserving on your All-Star Vote.

Turner currently ranks third amongst the third baseman in NL with 220,000 votes but is still sitting well over 400,000 votes behind Kris Bryant. I know what casual baseball fans are thinking, Kris Bryant is the reigning NL MVP and is amongst the top of the league in home runs numbers, but he should not be that clear of a favorite.

Turner is hitting .379 with 17 RBI in 39 games this season. Despite his low power numbers (one home run), Turner’s batting average 63 points higher than the next-best average among third baseman ( J. Gyorko – .316).

I know at such a stacked position, with a lot of power hitters Turner’s power numbers may sell him short. But the truth is, when Turner was healthy and playing every day, he was without a doubt the best hitter in the league. Due to recency-biased he likely won’t pass the reigning MVP to start for the NL, but he should be on the NL roster once they name the reserves.

As Dodger fans, we shouldn’t rely on the manager to select Turner and instead up our voting for J.T. to make it known he should be an All-Star
