Tonight, the Dodgers start a three-game series with the National League East-leading Washington Nationals. Many consider the Dodgers and Nationals the two best teams in the National League right now, and they both come into Monday with 35 wins.

Both the Nationals and Dodgers are coming off two series wins on the road. The Nationals went 5-1 against the Giants and Athletics while the Dodgers went 4-3 against the Cardinals and Brewers.

In their last ten games, the Dodgers and Nationals are both 7-3. Similarly, both teams come into the series banged up offensively. The Dodgers will be missing Joc Pederson and Justin Turner while the Nationals are already without Adam Eaton for the season, but could also be without the services of Jayson Werth for a few games since he fouled a  ball off his foot Saturday.

These teams don’t need an introduction to each other since they squared off in the NLDS last season in a memorable series that saw Clayton Kershaw record his first major league save.  While he won’t be coming out of the bullpen this series, this should be an intriguing matchup and precursor to another exciting playoff series.
