Dodgers: Corey Seager Has Quietly Been on a Hot Streak
Dodgers’ Corey Seager has been on fire over the last month, but nobody seems to be taking notice.
Corey Seager has put together a really solid season for the Dodgers, but it seems like he has been going under the radar. The reigning NL Rookie of the Year is hitting .298 with 13 HR and 45 RBI, but it is the other young Dodger star Cody Bellinger who is getting all the headlines, and deservingly so because of his record-breaking start.
Justin Turner has also been a hot topic of discussion because of his near .400 BA into July, and Yasiel Puig is always someone who is often talked about because of how polarizing he is and the resurgence with the bat he is having in 2017.
However, Seager is arguably the best all-around player on the team, and he is starting to show why within the last month.
Seager is not a flamboyant personality that creates headlines. He just goes out there and plays baseball at an extremely high level. Seager is quietly hitting .363 over his last month with five HR 20 RBI, and a 1.090 OPS.

Nobody is talking about his recent hot streak, but he is the type of guy that would much rather prefer it to be this way.
I believe Seager’s injury in spring training sort of threw his rhythm off a bit, especially on defense, but he looks a lot more comfortable now at SS. He was swinging the bat decently at the beginning of the season but now seems much more locked in.
He followed up a May in which he only hit .255 with two HR and seven RBI with a strong June in where he hit .315 with five HR and 15 RBI. He has even carried that bat into July, where he is hitting .346 in six games so far.
But I believe we still haven’t seen the best of Corey Seager yet this season, which should get Dodger fans excited and the National League a bit worried.
