Dodgers: Cody Bellinger Day-to-Day After Ankle Injury
Cody Bellinger left today’s game with an ankle injury, but it doesn’t appear to be too serious.
Cody Bellinger hurt his ankle against the Detroit Tigers and left the game but doesn’t seem to be too bad. He injured himself while making a catch on a fly ball at the warning track but Dodgers fans can breathe because he is listed as day-to-day.

Los Angeles has a 19 game lead over the Rockies in the NL West, so there is not too much of concern in regards to his absence. It’s disappointing to see the 22-year-old miss time (no matter how minimal) as he has been a virtual lock as a starter for every game.
The NL Rookie of the Year favorite is hitting .275 with 34 home runs and 79 RBI. His home run total puts him at second in the National League behind Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins. So it is easy to see why Los Angeles is 78-23 with him in the lineup compared to 9-11 without him.
This may be a way to give him a couple of extra days off to keep him fresh because he has played so much.
And even though it seems to be a minor injury, you can never be too sure, especially the fans. We do not always know what is going on behind the scenes. But that is just speculation.
Hopefully, he does not miss more time than he needs to because it would be fun to see how high he can make his home run total with 41 games left in the season.
That and each game he misses hurts his chances in the MVP discussion, but that is just a minor bump. The most important thing is the World Series ring and that starts with a healthy Cody Bellinger.
