Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, it is quite evident that the Los Angeles Dodgers are enjoying some early success this postseason.

After taking a relatively clean lead against the Chicago Cubs, at 3-1, the Dodgers have many reasons to be ecstatic with the play of Yasiel Puig. It is only right to give credit to the Wild Horse, as he has been simply outstanding throughout the postseason, so far.

Yasiel is not just having fun, though, he also has looked to be playing with the highest level of professionalism that we might have seen out of the 26-year-old, to date.

Not only have the numbers been magnificent, but the sheer excitement that Yasiel Puig has always brought to Dodger fans has remained true, and just continues to grow with the added success that he and the club have had this year.

Sure, there have been many lows or situations that have drawn negative awareness to Yasiel during his tenure as a Dodger, but if you have been watching how far he has come – after having little tolerance last year – he has undoubtedly progressed.

The Wild Horse may have still seen himself on the ropes on an occasion or two this season; however, there was somewhat of a leap that Puig took as the Dodgers headed into playoffs this year. There has been more assurance, minimal second-guessing (if any) and positive vibrations gleaming from every moving part of Puig.

He has without a doubt raised his level of competition by leading as a veteran on the team and being a solid example for others when it comes to rallying around players who want to win.

Who knows, maybe it is still bold to say that Yasiel Puig has spun a complete one-eighty and turned it around as a baseball player, but he is undoubtedly giving all possible reasons for people to believe in him.

And furthermore, people are once again believing in Puig as the Cuban star that the Dodgers signed years ago. Could it be that he is reaching all expectations right now? For as far as we have seen this postseason, Puig has been firing on all cylinders.

The stage could not be more suitable for the player that Yasiel Puig has been since entering the show – for that, the spotlight has only driven him to be the most successful player that he is capable of. The Wild Horse has done more than impress through his 30 plate appearances (through the NLDS to Game 4 of the NLCS), by flashing a .417 BA and .533 OBP and tallying one homer to his six RBI (stats via mb.com).

While the hits have been clutch, it has been the patience of Yasiel Puig that has caught the attention of everyone. Puig’s ten hits in seven postseason games have also carried a sweet sidekick. Walks.

Having drawn six BB, Puig owns a crisp .533 OBP; and if that has not caught the attention of everyone – well, his lone home run was his first postseason long-ball. And you can bet the Dodgers’ payroll that ALL of Los Angeles not only heard but also felt that turning point – to one of the biggest moments in Yasiel Puig’s flourishing career.

Following the young stud through his epic turnaround has been simply jaw-dropping. Puig has handled his situations on the field with such confidence and precision that he has continuously been delivering what his team has needed; but more importantly, coming through when they have needed it.

This sudden revival of an elite, all-star caliber player has shot the Dodgers into a team that has no significant holes and fears nothing as a team. And this is all while maintaining the willingness to grind for absolutely everything.
