The 2018 Dodgers appear to be well set on paper.  Of course, Dodger fans, and baseball fans of any team all can speak to the inherent fragility of an MLB pitching staff.

As with years past, expect the Dodgers to be active shoppers for pitching come the July 31 MLB Trade Deadline.  The Dodgers are one or two injuries away to their pitching staff from swinging a big trade for some veteran arms down the stretch.  Walker Buehler and Julio Urias will likely play a factor this summer, but there are concerns surrounding their health and durability.  Ross Stripling could step up and make some starts, and Brock Stewart along with some solid arms at AAA Oklahoma City will provide some coverage.

However, for a team with lofty ambitions in October, the Dodgers can’t entrust their stretch run to unproven talent.  The Dodgers are not as deep as they once were with veteran pitchers on the sidelines, so expect Andrew Friedman to bring in reinforcements for both the starting rotation and the bullpen.  The organization however, is deep in minor league talent, talent that may help the team acquire the talented pitchers below.  I propose two different trade scenarios that could happen mutually exclusive of one another, or could both happen should the team’s DL see as many visitors as it has in the past couple of seasons.
