Dodgers: Unsung Heroes of the Regular Season


He has not been a Dodger for long but his time in blue has not been wasted even for a second. David Freese was brought here from Pittsburgh and got right to work for his new team.
Since being acquired on August 31, David Freese has been a key part to almost every lineup as a first baseman and a third baseman. The versatile 35-year old veteran came here and brought that if nothing else to the team.

But, luckily for the Dodgers, the buck did not stop there. Freese hit .395 in his time with Los Angeles and also contributed two home runs and three doubles.
When the Dodgers went and traded for David Freese, they had hoped to get a player that could hit in the clutch and bring a veteran presence to the lineup. He has gone above and beyond those expectations, playing as an almost every day player and playing as of the team’s most productive options in September.
Freese has a team option for next season and with Chase Utley retiring, the FO may value Freese’s age and obvious ability to hit and pick that up.

The Dodgers had a great year and still have a lot more baseball left to play. But, heading into the postseason, these were the players that lead the pack in terms of under the radar performances.
