The Dodgers set their forty man roster on Wednesday night.  There were a couple surprise decisions that most didn’t see coming.

The Dodgers set their forty man roster on Wednesday night and although most of the decisions were obvious, there were a few that stood out.  The more obvious decisions were Keibert Ruiz and Yadier Alvarez being added to the forty man roster.  Ruiz is the Dodgers’ catcher of the future and Alvarez has been a headache but he still possesses a talented right arm.

The players designated for assignment or cut were Tom Koehler, Erik Goeddel, Zac Rosscup, and Tim Locastro.  The unprotected players were Drew Jackson, Cristian Santana, and Andrew Sopko. Here are the roster decisions that were the most surprising.  Time will tell if the Dodgers made the right decisions in protecting their prospects from the rule five draft.
