Avoid the disabled list

The Dodgers and the disabled list found themselves together way too often in 2018.  Corey Seager’s elbow finally blew out leading to season ending Tommy John surgery and Justin Turner also went on the DL prior to the season even starting.  Although Turner’s injury was the result of a hit by pitch, he has been injury prone ever since he found his success in LA.  Turner will need to stay on the field more often in 2019, even if it means playing less games.

The Dodgers’ starting rotation was also injury ravaged all last season.  Every single member of the opening day rotation spent time on the DL, and then some as Ross Stripling, Dennis Santana, and other starters made their way onto the disabled list at some point.  Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu have both spent plenty of time on the DL over the past two seasons so they are the main two pitchers who will need to stay healthier in 2019.
