Spring has sprung. Most Dodger players, if not all of them, have begun their trecks to Arizona where they will spend the next two months preparing for the long grind of the baseball season. Players will train and play in exhibition games but it will be a squad divided.

Minor league players are relegated to the minor league side of camp while players on the 40-man roster prepare on the big league side. Then there is 2019’s group of 21 Dodgers minor leaguers invited to join the 40-man roster this spring.

Among them are top prospects like Will Smith and DJ Peters, veterans on minor league deals like Paulo Orlando and past contributors to major league rosters like Kevin Quakenbush and Daniel Corcino.

That is the beauty of spring training. It is a level playing field where minor leaguers both young and old get an opportunity to prove themselves against the game’s most elite players. Pitchers get to pitch in front of Dave Roberts and hitters will have an equal opportunity to show what they are made of.

Thus, surprises are born. Non-roster invitees impress the masses and get their shot at stardom. Here is my list of three non-roster invites to keep an eye on.
