Location, Location, Location

Anyone involved with real estate will tell you that the biggest value a property has is its location.  For Bryce Harper, the Dodgers are in the perfect location for him in many ways.  The Dodgers are the closest team to his home town of Las Vegas.  On off days he could take a quick flight back home if he would like and return the same day.  Playing in Philadelphia would not offer that as it would be a four to five hour flight if weather permits.

Then there is the fact that he is a known Lakers fan.  Harper would be in the same city as his beloved Lakers and be able to go to every home game if he wished.  Imagine LeBron and Harper in the same city?  Los Angeles was made for the stars and Harper would shine in the bright lights of LA which would only help his brand.

Another benefit of playing in southern California is the beautiful weather and winter temperatures that would be summer in a city like Philadelphia.  Dodger games are rarely rained out and during baseball season it’s extremely rare that the games are played in temperatures below sixty degrees.  In his off-season, Bryce Harper would not deal with frigid snowstorms and he would actually enjoy living in Los Angeles.

Outside of offering more money, there is really nothing the Phillies or any other team could offer Bryce Harper that the Dodgers cannot.  Bryce Harper should pick the Dodgers if he wants to win for many years, play in perfect weather, and actually enjoy living where he spends six months playing baseball.  If the Dodgers offer a contract similar to the Phillies, it should be a no brainer for Bryce Harper to sign with the Dodgers.
