Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

The Quakes are coming off a championship season as they won the California League title in 2018.  A good portion of this year’s team, sixteen to be exact, played for the Quakes last season.  These are the prospects to watch on this year’s Quakes team:

Connor Wong: The Dodgers’ 14th ranked prospect is yet another one of their catching gems in the minor leagues.  After Will Smith and Keibert Ruiz, Wong is another catching prospect with potential in the Dodgers’ farm system.  Last season Connor hit nineteen home runs and he is the Austin Barnes mold as he can play second base and third base in addition to catcher.

Michael Grove: This talented right-hander was the Dodgers’ second-round pick in last year’s draft and the highest selection the Dodgers signed as JT Ginn went on to play college baseball.  The twenty-two-year-old has yet to throw a pitch in the minor leagues after recovering from Tommy John surgery so this will be his first action in the minors.  He currently ranks as the Dodgers’ number 15 prospect.

Jeter Downs:  When the Dodgers traded Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Alex Wood, and Kyle Farmer to the Reds they did not receive immediate help back but they acquired two legit prospects and one of them is Jeter Downs.  Last season Jeter hit 13 home runs and stole 37 bases and will be playing his first season in the Dodgers’ farm system.

Notable Mentions:  Jeren Kendall, Edwin Uceta
