Rich Hill also threw a bullpen session yesterday and it was an all-out session in which he threw fastballs and curveballs.  The bullpen session lasted twenty pitches and on Tuesday Rich will throw another bullpen session of at least thirty pitches.  Hill did say he felt some pressure in his knee when throwing so his return is not as close as Kershaw’s.

With Hill being 39 years old and the Dodgers rotation loaded with quality depth it would not be surprising if he missed another couple of weeks at least.  The Dodgers as they are with Kershaw, are taking the long term approach and given their 7-2 start, they are not going to be pressured into rushing Hill or Kershaw back.

The Dodgers need Rich Hill more for the postseason than they do for the regular season so they will keep him out until he is pain-free and feeling like his normal self.  Hill will likely bump Ross Stripling from the rotation when he returns as Kershaw will bump Urias to the bullpen.
