Despite Sunday’s disappointing ending, the Dodgers still took two of three from the up and coming Padres.  Here are the takeaways from the weekend series.

The Dodgers accomplished their goal of winning the series against the Padres this past weekend although even that is slightly disappointing.  The Dodgers held a 5-4 lead entering the bottom of the ninth inning and then a base hit and two bunts later the Dodgers and Kenley Jansen were in a tough jam.  One bunt was just a perfectly placed bunt but the other was bad defense by LA.

Jansen did get two outs but then Hunter Renfroe came in to pinch hit and he unloaded on a Jansen cutter to end the game and give the Padres an 8-5 victory.  The series was about comebacks as the Dodgers came from behind to win the first two in the series and then the Padres ended the series finale in walk-off fashion.  Here are the three takeaways from the weekend series in San Diego.
