Dodgers: Stock up, stock down entering the final week of season
Stock Down
Unfortunately for the Dodgers, not every player can get hot heading into the postseason. Here are some players that have struggled in the final month of the regular season:
Clayton Kershaw -Kersh has been trending downward in the final month of the regular season. He has pitched to an ERA of 4.96 in September and he has allowed five home runs in just three starts. While that is part of the game today with juiced baseballs, the opposition has hit .288 against Clayton this month. Hopefully he can end his regular season with one strong start.

Walker Buehler – Like his rotation mate Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler has also struggled in the final month of the regular season. He has an ERA of 4.70 in four September starts and has allowed four home runs. He has held the opposition to a .224 average so he is experiencing some bad luck. Buehler is likely going to get the ball in game one of the NLDS so a strong start to end his season would be optimal.
Will Smith – The good news for Will is that he homered in Sunday’s game so perhaps that could be a sign of things to come. He has been awful at the plate in September, posting a slash line of .114/.200/.182. Sunday’s home run was his only home run in September so maybe it will go down as the hit that busted his slump.
Max Muncy – Although it is not his fault for getting hit on the wrist and fracturing a bone in his wrist, Max Muncy has struggled since returning from the IL. He has hit .160 in September and failed to show much power since his return. His slugging percentage this month is just .240. It would be nice to see Max hit a home run or two in the final six games to show he can hit for power heading into the postseason.
