Brewers pack a punch even without Yelich

The Brewers may be without Christian Yelich but last NLCS they were basically without him against the Dodgers.  Yelich hit just one home run with one RBI against LA while hitting just .179.  Even without Yelich the Brewers had four players who hit over twenty home runs including Mike Moustakas who belted 35 home runs this season.

More from LA Dodgers News

They likely would’ve had five players excluding Yelich who hit twenty or more home runs if local product Keston Hiura who hit 19 home runs, did not miss time due to injuries.  Milwaukee also has former Dodger Yasmani Grandal and although he has a history of struggling in the postseason, the ex-Dodgers always seem to come back to hurt LA.

Filling in for Yelich in right field has been Trent Grisham who was the Brewers first round pick back in 2015.  Grisham belted 26 home runs between AA and AAA this season and has homered six time in the big leagues.  Although he hasn’t shown in the big leagues yet, Grisham stole as many as 38 bases in one season of minor league ball.  He is a sneaky power-speed fill in for Yelich.

While many Dodger fans are rooting for the Brewers tonight because they feel the team is an easy matchup compared to the Nationals, be careful what you ask for.  While the Nationals have a scary rotation, the Brewers are a hot team that is playing with house money.  Meanwhile the Dodgers are expected to win the National League.
