This season against Washington in 2019: 1 start, 6 IP, 2 earned runs, 3 hits, 9 K’s

The Nationals saw Clayton Kershaw just once this season but they have seen plenty of him over the years including seeing him close out their season in game five of the 2016 NLDS.  Washington has a total slash line of .279/.320/.404 against Kershaw which is pretty impressive given they have seen a lot of him during his prime years.

Asdrubal Cabrera, Gerardo Parra, and Ryan Zimmerman are the only Nationals who have homered against Kershaw.  Anthony Rendon is 5-19 against Clayton although all five of his hits have been singles and he has just one RBI.  Juan Soto has just two AB’s against Kersh and he has struck out once and walked once.

Key lead-off cog Trea Turner has fared well against Kershaw going 3-10 with one RBI.  Although Gerardo Parra is a known Dodger killer, it’s still surprising to see a left-handed batter have the success he has had against Kershaw.  Parra has a .317/.364/.512 slash line against Clayton with five extra base hits and a home run in 41 at-bats.  Kershaw is expected to start game three.
