Dodgers: How the Nationals have fared against LA’s rotation

This season against the Nationals: 1 start, 5 IP, 3 earned runs, 5 hits, 5 K’s
Even in an abbreviated season, Rich Hill still got to face the Nationals one time this season. The Nationals have hit him better than any Dodger playoff starter posting a slash line of .291/.400/.636. Ryan Zimmerman has slugged two home runs against Hill while Anthony Rendon, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Howie Kendrick have also taken Hill deep.

Despite Hill being around for a while, Rendon has just three at-bats against Rich and is 2-3 with that one home run. Juan Soto has yet to face Hill meanwhile Trea Turner also has just two at-bats against D. Mountain. Adam Eaton, the Nationals’ other spark plug at the top of their lineup is 2-4 with a double and a triple against Rich Hill.
It will be interesting to see how long Rich Hill stays in the game against Washington as he is expected to pitch four to five innings as he continues to work up his pitch count. Depending on his pitch count, the Nationals’ lineup may only get one or two looks at Hill before the Dodgers go to another starting pitcher such as Dustin May, Ross Stripling, or Julio Urias out of the bullpen.

One of the main keys for the Dodger pitching staff will be to keep Trea Turner and Adam Eaton off of the base paths. As they go, the Nationals’ offense goes and both players also combined to swipe 50 stolen bases in 58 attempts. The fact that LA’s rotation has three lefties could help keep Washington’s run game in check.
