Julio Urias bails out Joe Kelly and the Dodgers

Much like fellow starter Kenta Maeda, when the calendar turns to October, Julio Urias shines as a reliever rather than a starting pitcher, his regular role.  Last year, Urias got Christian Yelich to fly out in game seven of the NLCS to avoid a big rally by the Brewers, thanks in part to an assist from left fielder Chris Taylor.

While it is not quite the NLCS yet, if the Dodgers end up advancing to this year’s NLCS, Julio Urias will be part of the reason why the Dodgers are able to knock out the Nationals.  Joe Kelly pitched poorly enough to put an 8-2 lead in question but Julio Urias came in and cleaned up Kelly’s mess.  Urias allowed just one run after inheriting a bases loaded no out situation.  Julio helped restore order in what was an eventual Dodger win.
